What Is The Best Extended Mouse Pad? – 2018 Buyer’s Guide (Updated)

What is the best thing to elevate your ultimate gaming PC setup after getting your gaming mouse and keyboard? Well, we’d suggest an extended gaming mouse pad. The look of it makes your keyboard and mouse seem like a whole entity and really cleans up your setup. Not to mention that these mouse pads are made specifically for the gaming market – ensuring that they are, indeed, built to last and built for performance. So, whether you’re protecting point in CS:GO, orbwalking in DOTA2, or CSing in League of Legends, you can depend on your extended mouse pad.

But which one should you get?

Well, there are a lot of things to think about when it comes to extended gaming mouse pads, like aesthetics, material, and build quality.

Thankfully, there is an extended mouse pad for every setup and every preference. Whether you’re running a large full-keyboard with extra macro buttons or a bezel-less tenkeyless keyboard, there’s mouse pad for it.

When it comes to simple products such as mouse pads, where factors are rather uniform throughout the market, a determining factor should be how easy it is to get in touch with the company. Whether or not they have a dedicated website or if they’re a third-party seller on Amazon is an indication of how difficult it will be to get your money back, get a replacement through warranty, or to solve any other problems you might have.

How much should you be ready to spend?

These extended mouse pads range as low as around $10 to as high as about $35. Definitely be ready to spend more for big brand names like Corsair and Razer. Smaller companies who have a well-established customer base like Glorious and Reflex Lab will charge a more reasonable price that will fall somewhere in the middle. However, if you’re willing to take a risk on one of the hidden gems like Subzero or even Reejoyan, you will be paying even less.

Don’t be fooled by fancy designs or well written marketing descriptions into paying brand-name price tags for no-name brand products: know what it’s worth and you should expect what you pay for.

So, without further ado, let’s get into the best extended gaming mouse pads you can invest your money in!

The Glorious PC Gaming Race Extended Gaming Mouse Pad: Editor’s Choice

The Glorious PC Gaming Race Extended Gaming Mouse Pad

Build Quality:

At 36 inches by 11 inches, this mouse pad definitely has enough real estate to fit both your precious mouse and keyboard. The surface of this mouse pad is super smooth – lowering friction for very clean and controlled mouse movements. At the bottom, there is an anti-slip rubber base so your peripherals won’t be going anywhere on any surface. There is an added bonus of stitched frames around the edges of the mouse pad to ensure longevity and durability when it comes to cloth fraying. This mouse pad is built to pass the test of time.

Aesthetics:

This is a minimalist gamer’s dream. It’s one solid color with a tiny logo and company name at the lower right-hand corner. Glorious has a rather playful logo too, so it won’t be an eye-sore while you’re at your desk. Color options come in black or an ash-white – we heavily don’t suggest white if you tend to eat at your computer desk. However, on the chance that you do and unfortunately stain it, don’t fret because this mouse pad is machine washable!

Price to Quality:

The price is relatively moderate in comparison to the rest of this list: it falls right in the middle. But you don’t get a mid-tier product – you get something that is actually top of the line from a well-established company.

About the Company:

Glorious PC Gaming Race makes other really high-quality products like mechanical keyboards, wrist rests, keycaps, etc. They’re well rooted in social media, making them very easy to contact. If that doesn’t convince you that they’re a trustworthy brand, then maybe one of your favorite tech enthusiasts might! Many high-profile tech vloggers/bloggers are big fans of them – looking at LinusTechTips specifically. You will be in safe hands when you purchase from Glorious.

Summary:

Pros Cons
  • Amazing Build Quality
  • Premium materials
  • Minimalistic style
  • Machine Washable
  • Company is highly active on Reddit, often offering discounts to other PCMasterRace enthusiasts

Holding the reputation of many famous tech enthusiasts, you can bet that Glorious PC Gaming Race definitely packed a lot in their product. This mouse pad is absolutely worth the money for all that you get.

Corsair MM200 Extended Edition: The Mainstream

Corsair MM200 extended

Build Quality:

At 36 inches by 12 inches, this mouse pad will be great for your peripherals. The top of this mouse pad is built for excellent mouse gliding. Corsair states that they QA and screen all their microtextured surface materials with the utmost care to ensure that their customers get the best mouse pads for gaming mouse sensors. The bottom is made out of natural rubber to protect against slipping during those do-or-die moments in an intense game. An often-under-looked benefit of this gaming mouse pad’s natural rubber base is that there is no new chemical smell when you first unbox it, so there is no need to air it out.

Aesthetics:

I guess there’s no hiding it anymore – we are pretty big fans of minimalistic looks over here. The clean aesthetics of an extended gaming mouse pad just looks so fresh. Corsair isn’t as plain as the mouse pad from Glorious PC Gaming Race though. They add a super slick design across the bottom of the mouse pad with two lines that lead to the old Corsair sailboat logo. They only offer one color choice – black – but they do offer a second logo design that many of the reddit community have nicknamed the “tramp stamp” logo. No judgement from us though, we all have our own preferences.

Price to Quality:

You’ll be paying a premium just because this is a Corsair product. However, it isn’t a terrible deal because it’s slightly cheaper than other big brand-name products; it just, unfortunately, lacks stitched frames – which is probably why it costs less.

About the Company:

Corsair is one of the biggest players in the PC gaming market. They make high quality keyboards, mice, computer parts, etc. They have really good customer service and have products in large retailers like Best Buy, as well. There isn’t much to say about Corsair as a company just because they are so big and well known.

Summary:

Pros Cons
  • Premium and natural materials
  • Minimalistic style
  • Comes in multiple sizes
  • Dependable company with reliable history
  • Expensive (see lowest price)
  • No stitched edges – Prone to fraying
  • Does not specify that it is washable

Let’s face it – at this price point, you are unfortunately paying for the Corsair-brand name. And with the added fact that there is no stitching around its edges, the durability probably isn’t as great as you should expect from Corsair. But it is definitely one of the more beautiful mouse pads and with a company like Corsair behind it, you should have no problems when getting help from a customer service representative.

PECHAM Extended Mouse Pad: The Budget Choice

PECHAM Extended Mouse Pad

Build Quality:

This mouse pad is a standard size of 36 inches long by 12 inches wide. The top of this mouse pad is stated by PECHAM to be optimized for mouse speed and control during gaming sessions. For those who like some snacks and a beverage while gaming, good news, because this mouse pad is both water resistant and machine washable! If you look along the edges, you’ll also happily notice that this mouse pad has stitched edges – protecting the cloth from fraying. The bottom is made out of a rubber material for anti-slipping purposes.

Aesthetics:

Yet another minimalistic extended gaming mouse pad, but this time, the logo isn’t the most pleasant looking to stare at, nor is it necessarily small. There is a gigantic “PECHAM” at the bottom right-hand corner. There aren’t any other colors or design choices to choose from. This mouse pad doesn’t look as good as it sounds, but at least it does its job well.

Price to Quality:

This mouse pad is so cheap for what you get. It’s also an “Amazon’s Choice” product so you know many people have made the same decision and never looked back, as well.

About the Company:

PECHAM actually dips their toes in more markets than just the gaming niche. They’re well known outside of the United States, and they’re a relatively large company, as well. PECHAM offers email, phone, and live-chat support just like the big players do, so expect to be taken care of if anything ever happens to your beloved mouse pad.

Summary:

Pros Cons
  • Cheap (Check Price)
  • Minimalistic style
  • Stitched Edges
  • Machine Washable
  • Water Resistant
  • Unattractive Logo

You get all this for such a budget friendly price. This mouse pad is definitely a bang for your buck and an absolute consideration if you are looking for a “no-frills, no-thrills” type of mouse pad that will do you and your game justice.

Razer Goliathus: The Flashy Pick

Razer Goliathus

Build Quality:

Razer makes really high-quality gaming equipment, so it should be no surprise that their gaming mouse pad is high quality too. This mouse pad is also special in that Razer made two different versions for two different purposes: speed versus control. Instead of being a “jack of all trades, master of none”, Razer is going to make you a master of one.

When it comes to their Speed (AKA: Terra) version of this mouse pad, you can expect a surface made of pulled taut weave for an ultra-smooth and low friction feel.

On the other side, you have the Control (AKA: Gravity) version. The surface of this mouse pad is notably more textured than the Terra version. The micro-textures on this mouse pad is supposed to provide just the right amount of friction for the moments when you really need sniper-accurate mouse movements. This mouse pad combined with a mouse that can go to an extremely low DPI will allow you to headshot people with pinpoint accuracy.

Between both versions, the Goliathus is made for reliable and consistent mouse sensor tracking, with Razer marketing it as “Pixel-precise”. The edges have anti-fray stitching, as expected from high quality mouse pads. The bottom is the typical anti-slip rubber base.

Aesthetics:

Finally! A non-minimalist gaming mouse pad! Razer really makes their mouse pads pop by creating some crazy designs on these – five of them, in fact! They even have game specific versions too! Is Overwatch, Call of Duty, or Destiny your favorite game? Then look no further, this is the mouse pad for you!

Price to Quality:

You’ll be paying a premium just because this is, in fact, Razer. They’re well known amongst the gaming community of overpricing their products a bit, but they have such a large control of the market and a good reputation that most people don’t really care. You can expect nothing but the absolute best from the Razer Goliathus mouse pad just based on how their other products perform; let’s just say you pay for a piece of mind, as well as the mouse pad.

About the Company:

There’s no introduction needed for Razer. But for what it’s worth, they make some amazing gaming peripherals like keyboards and mouse. Their Razer Blade laptops are also top of the line in the general laptop market – not just in the gaming niche. They even entered the smartphone market last year too with a very well-received Razer phone! Yes, there is a premium you pay when you purchase a Razer product, but that money is always an excellent investment.

Summary:

Pros Cons
  • Great Build Quality
  • Stitched Edges
  • Machine Washable
  • Specialized Needs
  • Multiple Designs
  • Expensive (see lowest price)
  • Specialization for only one attribute
  • Big, Flashy Designs

Not only is Razer synonymous with great quality products, they are also synonymous with really expensive products. The, so called, “Razer Tax” is definitely being charged on this mouse pad, so pricing will be in the highest tier. The very interesting approach that Razer is taking when it comes to targeting specific needs of gamers is definitely different from other brands.

With all the big designs, this will definitely be either a make or break for some potential customers because Razer does not make a black (or “Stealth,” if we were to go by Razer naming conventions) version of this mouse pad.

HyperX Fury S Pro: A Non-Conformist

HyperX Fury S Pro

Build Quality:

This mouse pad is slightly different in that it is extended, not only latitudinally, but longitudinally, as well. The HyperX Fury S Pro gaming mouse pad is 36 inches by 16.5 inches. You get an entire 4.5 inches more than a traditional extended mouse pad. The surface material is a combination of Goliathus’ Terra and Gravity version with a smooth surface for speed, but only slightly topped with micro-textures for better control. Whatever material this mouse is made of, it is oddly more comfortable than other mouse pads too. The sides are stitched to prevent fraying, like all good quality extended mouse pads. The bottom is actually made out of a natural rubber – similar to Corsair’s MM200. Unfortunately, it has been reported that the Fury S has slight issues with slipping on glass surfaces.

Aesthetics:

Back to the minimalistic designs, we have the HyperX Fury S. Aside from the dimensions, the design is almost identical to PECHAM’s with the only exception being that HyperX’s logo is significantly more attractive than PECHAM’s. However, for those of you who hate large logos, you might want to look at another mouse pad because HyperX’s logo is not any smaller than PECHAM’s.

Price to Quality:

This mouse pad falls high up in the mid-tier price point. You can probably expect good quality just because it’s made by HyperX.

Thankfully, they don’t charge a premium for having their logo on a product like Corsair and Razer.

About the Company:

HyperX is known by many in the PC enthusiast world for their computer components like memory and storage, as well as being known for excellent customer service! They also sponsor many big name eSports teams like Team SoloMid and Cloud9.

Summary:

Pros Cons
  • Great Build Quality
  • Stitched Edges
  • Machine Washable
  • Minimalistic Design
  • 2 Year Warranty
  • Issues with glass surfaces
  • Could be slightly too big

If you’re looking for some more room on your extended mouse pad for, maybe, an extra-large keyboard, a great option is definitely the HyperX Fury S. At a respectable price, this mouse pad provides more surface area than most.

Of course, this nonconventional size might not be suited for many gamers. However, that’s up to you to decide. But if you think that this isn’t for you, and you still really want a HyperX mouse pad, sorry, because they don’t make any standard size ones.

Reflex Lab Extended Gaming Mouse Pad – A Close Runner Up

Reflex Lab Extended Gaming Mouse Pad

Build Quality:

Speaking of non-conforming mouse pads, the Reflex Lab extended mouse pad one-ups HyperX and adds an extra 1.5 inches lengthwise: making this a 36 inches by 18 inches extended mouse pad. But not only does it trump the HyperX Fury S lengthwise, they have also added an extra 2mm in thickness. As a 5mm thick mouse pad, it is a contender for the most comfortable one (keep on reading to find out who owns that title). The surface material is silky smooth, lowering friction between the mouse and the mouse pad, and is optimized for mouse sensors. The edges are nicely stitched to prevent fraying and allow machine washing. It is also waterproof in the case of any spillage accidents. The bottom is made out of rubber to prevent slipping, as expected.

Aesthetics:

The Reflex Lab extended mouse pad is minimalism at its finest. With how big their mouse pad is, their logo is surprisingly small. There are also four border color options for those who want to add a little pop to their PC setup, and there is also a borderless option for those who want to stick true to minimalism.

Price to Quality:

Reflex Lab’s mouse pad falls on the edge of low-tier and mid-tier price points. This is really one of the best valued mouse pads for all that you get. In fact, you have over 2,000 people who have raved about this mouse pad because it has maintained a 5-star “Amazon’s Choice” product for a long time now.

About the Company:

Reflex Lab isn’t that well known, which is probably why their mouse pads cost less than the market average. However, their reputation is rather high and they seem to be doing well since it looks like they’re being recommended by Amazon’s algorithm. They even have a website that provides a customer service number, and an email form.

Summary:

Pros Cons
  • Great Build Quality
  • Stitched Edges
  • Machine Washable
  • Waterproof
  • Minimalistic Design
  • Small Recessed Logo
  • Slightly thicker for more comfort
  • Reports of some stitches coming loose
  • Could be slightly too big
  • Slight smell when unboxed

A really close runner up: Reflex Lab would have taken the crown, but Glorious PC Gaming Race edged them out only because they are really active among the PC gaming community – providing one of the best customer service experiences.

Reflex Lab also offers a similar mouse pad that conforms to the standard extended gaming mouse pad dimensions. If this one is not for you, then we heavily suggest you check out the one that is 36 inches by 12 inches.

Dechanic Extended Heavy – Comfort is the Name of the Game

Dechanic Extended Heavy

Build Quality:

This mouse pad wins the title of the most comfortable mouse pad on this list. At 6mm, you get so much cushion and support. The surface is made of a slick, rigid weave that optimizes mouse speed and mouse sensor interaction. The bottom is made out of a rubber material to prevent slipping. It even has stitched edges, allowing anti-fraying and machine washing. However, the stitching does produce a slight bump that may or may not irritate your arm after an extended period of use. Overall, it is extremely well made and comfortable to use.

Aesthetics:

Similar to Reflex Lab’s mouse pad, it’s very minimalistic but with a larger logo. You can have different color border stitching if you want to provide some color to your setup or you can stick with the sleek, all-black look.

Price to Quality:

This mouse pad also falls on the edge of low-tier and mid-tier price points. For a company that isn’t well known, the price is actually somewhat high, but they also provide double the substance for what you purchase, so it really balances out in the end. There haven’t been many reports, if any, about quality control issues, so Dechanic seems like a safe company to spend your money at.

About the Company:

Dechanic seems like a new player in the market since they don’t have too many Amazon reviews. However, they do have a dedicated website, which shows that they are only selling mouse pads at the moment. There is an email address, along with their social media links, if you need to contact them for assistance.

Summary:

Pros Cons
  • Great Build Quality
  • Stitched Edges
  • Machine Washable
  • Waterproof
  • Minimalistic Design
  • Good Logo Placement
  • Thicker for maximum comfort
  • Stitching is slightly protruding, possibly causing some discomfort.
  • Slight smell when unboxed

You could probably use this as a pillow if you ever get too tired because it is twice the thickness of normal mouse pads. And don’t lie to yourself either, we have all taken a quick nap in the middle of the night on our desks while waiting for matchmaking – this is something we all wanted, but never new existed. Unfortunately, the only downside of this mouse pad is that the stitching could cause some fabric burn after a very long gaming session.

Combaterwing Extended Gaming Mouse Pad – Size Doesn’t Matter

Combaterwing Extended Gaming Mouse Pad

Build Quality:

For those who like tenkeyless (TKL) keyboards, you probably won’t need that much room on your extended mouse pad. At 28 inches by 12 inches, this mouse pad is a whole 8 inches smaller than a standard size mouse pad – which is perfect for those who have a TKL keyboard. But not only is it a whole 8 inches shorter, but it’s actually a millimeter thinner than standard mouse pads too. All this might be an effort to save money on production and lower costs because that is one super CHEAP mouse pad. The surface is an ultra-smooth fabric that provides speed and control when gaming. The bottom is also made with a natural rubber. However, due to the waterproof coating on this mouse pad, it is actually not chemical-free. It’s important to note that this mouse pad – at such a low price point – has stitched edges to provide anti-fraying, allowing it to be machine washable.

Aesthetics:

The Combaterwing mouse pad seems to be for those who like a middle ground between super flashy and minimalistic designs. It has a bright red border along the frame of the mouse pad and the bird logo is rather sizable on the upper right-hand corner.

Price to Quality:

This mouse pad is the lowest on the low tier. But just because it’s not pricey doesn’t mean it isn’t a good product for the price. They have an “Amazon’s Choice” label for a reason. However, be reasonable with your expectations and don’t expect Combaterwing’s extended mouse pad to last you as long as Razer’s.

About the Company:

From the number of spelling mistakes on Combaterwing’s Amazon product description, and the lack of a dedicated website – you might be taking a risk if your product turns out defective, but – again – you don’t get an “Amazon’s Choice” label for nothing. It turns out that Combaterwing has a 4.5-star rating with a couple hundred reviews.

Since they don’t have a dedicated website with contact information, you’ll have to go through Amazon for any issues – which isn’t a bad thing by any means because they have one of the best customer service experiences we’ve ever gone through.

Summary:

Pros Cons
  • Good Build Quality
  • Stitched Edges
  • Machine Washable
  • Waterproof
  • Cheap (see lowest price)
  • Rather Small
  • Thinner so it’s less padded
  • Non-existent Customer Service

This mouse pad would really only be fit for a niche market, but because it is incredibly cheap, this would actually be tempting to the budget-friendly market too. Unfortunately, a down side to this mouse pad is that a full-sized keyboard would barely leave enough space for your mouse; you would need to have a TKL keyboard or a mouse that is set on a very high DPI to comfortably game on this. There also doesn’t seem to a company website, so customer service would have to be done through Amazon or any other third-party seller you bought the mouse pad through.

SubZero Gaming Extended Gaming Mouse Pad:

SubZero Gaming Extended Gaming Mouse Pad

Build Quality:

SubZero’s mouse pad is similar to a lot of other minimalistic mouse pads on this list. It’s a standard size; the top surface is made for maximum mouse speed and control; it has stitched edges for anti-fraying and durability; it has a rubber base for anti-slipping. If you’re all the way down here and still reading then you must have heard it all by now. You get what you should expect out of a decent extended gaming mouse pad.

Aesthetics:

In terms of looks, there’s not much going. It’s a sleek black surface with a rather nice logo on the lower right-hand corner. The seam from the stitched frame edges don’t look too protruding, and it looks rather thin and sophisticated. This might be one of the only three mouse pads that I’d even recommend in an office setting because the logo is so small and well done.

Price to Quality:

Their mouse pads are built very well, but at this point in the game, it’s really all about the price. And for the amount that SubZero is offering their product for, it’s worth the consideration since this puts the mouse pad in the mid-tier price point – or as I like to call it: the “Best Bang for Your Buck” tier.

About the Company:

SubZero is relatively new to the market, and they don’t really have a well-established customer base yet. They sell mouse pads and wrist rests, and they even have a dedicated website! They actually provide a ton of information on returns, warranty, contact information, etc. so I would feel very safe investing my money towards a SubZero product.

Summary:

Pros Cons
  • Good Build Quality
  • Stitched Edges
  • Machine Washable
  • Solid Price Point
  • Made by gamers for gamers
  • There have been reports of a strong chemical smell upon unboxing

You have a solid mouse pad that can be used at home or even at the office. The nice sleek look of SubZero’s mouse pad is similar to Reflex Lab and Glorious PC Gaming Race’s mouse pads. The best part is that they’re normally priced a bit less than both of its competitors too – giving SubZero a very nice advantage to put in their pockets.

Reejoyan XL

Reejoyan xl

Build Quality:

This extended mouse pad is slightly smaller than the majority of those being suggested on this list at 31.5 inches by 12 inches: making it perfect for those who want something in-between the smaller Combaterwing mouse pad and the standard size ones. The surface is made out of a smooth fabric, allowing for precise and quick mouse movements. Along the edges, there is stitching that will prevent the cloth from fraying over time and will also allow it to be machine washable. Unfortunately, the stitching looks to be the most protruding of all other mouse pads on this list, so if you’re a gamer who likes to rest his or her forearms on the desk, this might not be the one for you. The bottom of the mouse pad is made out of a rubber material, preventing slipping when gaming or working. It’s also made to be waterproof for those people who like a drink while going about their day on the computer.

Aesthetics:

Reejoyan’s extended gaming mouse pad is another one that is in-between a minimalistic and flashy design. They have a very gamer style design on the right side of the mouse pad: customers can pick between a blue dragon design or a green lion design. At the bottom left-hand corner, Reejoyan’s logo is displayed in a rather large and boring Garamond font. The framing from the anti-fraying stitching is actually one of the thinnest amongst the other mouse pads on this list – giving it a rather sophisticated look to contradict the heavy gamer style designs.

Price to Quality:

This mouse pad falls in the low tier when it comes to price point – only being beaten by Combaterwing. For such a low price, you get a well-designed and well-built extended mouse pad.

About the Company:

This company definitely took a little bit of detective work to figure out, but apparently, they are a new Chinese company that has products in the entire electronics market. Unfortunately, it looks like they don’t have a dedicated website, so you’ll have to solve any problems through Amazon.

Summary:

Pros Cons
  • Good Build Quality
  • Stitched Edges
  • Machine Washable
  • Two Design Styles
  • Cheap
  • Heavily Protruding Stitching
  • Logo font isn’t attractive and is big

The Reejoyan XL Gaming Mouse Pad is a great alternative to Razer’s heavily designed style, and for a price that is around half of Razer’s! As we stated before, gamers who like to rest their forearms on the edge of the mouse pad or table might have a problem with this product because the stitched frames are protruding outwards – possibly causing fabric burn over extended gaming sessions. Other than that, it is a well-designed and strongly built mouse pad that anyone with a smaller setup could definitely enjoy.

Final Words:

There are a lot of different mouse pad options these days. You can pick between traditional square mouse pads, extended mouse pads, LED mouse pads, wireless charging mouse pads, and probably more that we’re completely unaware of. In fact, mouse pads are such an investment these days that before you throw your money down towards an extended mouse pad, be sure you’re not going to need or want anything else. Do you want an LED mouse pad made by Razer? Or are you planning to get one of Logitech’s perpetually charging mouse pad and mouse combos? It’s no longer a second thought anymore, so be certain before you press the checkout button!
